A. Brice Cavanaugh

A. Brice Cavanaugh began his professional career with dogs as a military working dog handler for the United States Marine Corps (USMC) in 1992. During his tenure in the USMC, he handled Patrol/Explosives Detector Dogs and Patrol/Drug Detector Dogs, providing direct support to the President of the United States , Foreign Heads of State, Base assets and personnel, as well as civilian law enforcement and humanitarian organizations. In 1998, he was tasked with standing up and directing the HMX-One (Presidential Helicopter Squadron) Explosives Detector Canine Unit, whose mission was to take developed counter-terror intelligence and turn it into real world data and tailor training specific to upcoming missions. He was instrumental in the reevaluation and implementation of new techniques for explosives odor recognition and discrimination within the DoD. After the Marine Corps, Brice became a Deputy Sheriff for Fairfax County , Virginia , followed by private explosives detection work for various government agencies in the Washington , D.C. area. Brice recently started his own business, Vision K9, which provides solutions for working dog professionals internationally.
